Ms. Karen Hurley
Welcome to Palm Crest Elementary School, home of the Panthers! Established in 1956, Palm Crest is proud of its tradition of excellence and achievement. In 2009, Palm Crest received the California Distinguished School Award from the State of California and “Honor Roll” distinction from the California Business for Education Excellence. We are proud of the hard work of our 550 students in grades kindergarten through sixth and our 69 faculty and staff members.
Every member of our staff is committed to working in partnership with our parents and community to provide the highest quality education. At Palm Crest we embrace and celebrate each student’s unique contributions, and inspire each student to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We have created a caring community in which students are encouraged to focus on respect, responsibility, cooperation, and honesty. Our instructional program uses a variety of strategies and methods to ensure that every child succeeds.
Palm Crest has an active parent community who support us through their membership and involvement with PTA, volunteering in the classroom, and helping their children practice new skills each night with homework. The support of the La Canada-Flintridge community enables us to have outstanding programs, which make a significant difference in the lives of our students. Working together toward a shared vision of high expectations for student achievement and conduct, enable our students to demonstrate personal success and become confident, life-long learners.
