Dear PCR Community,
I am very pleased to share with you that Mr. Cory Pak will be appointed as Principal of Palm Crest Elementary School at a special meeting of the Board of Education on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. The position appointment will be effective on July 29, 2019.
Mr. Pak has served in public education since 1997. He worked as an elementary school teacher in the Riverside Unified School District from 1997-2001. Since 2002 he has been an administrator in the Saugus Union School District, serving as principal of three of their school sites – Rosedell Elementary School (2005-2010), West Creek Academy (2010-2017), and Charles Helmers Elementary School (2018 to present).
Mr. Pak earned his B.A. in Liberal Studies and his M.A. in Special Education from the University of California, Riverside.
I am exceedingly happy to be welcoming him to LCUSD. Cory brings with him a wealth of experience as an elementary school principal and we are fortunate to have him joining our administrative team as your principal. I feel strongly that his skills, talents, and leadership style will be an excellent complement to the PCR school community.
Cory and his wife, Michelle, have been married for fifteen years and have two daughters (Victoria Grace, age 13, and Elizabeth Love, age 10). When I asked Cory for a quote, he commented: “My family and I are very excited to join this wonderful community and look forward to begin our journey in La Canada. I feel truly blessed and humbled by this opportunity to lead and serve the Palm Crest community.”
I look forward to you meeting him and introducing your family as we get ready to begin the 2019-2020 school year.
All the best and I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer!
